Jennie Parsons Francis

Jennie Parsons Francis was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She attended Millsaps College and graduated from Nicholls State University in Louisiana with a BA in English and French. Jennie worked in marketing and advertising in Jackson, Mississippi for 12 years prior to moving to North Carolina in 1993. She had an abiding interest in art since childhood. She began painting full time in 1995.

As an emerging artist, Jennie is primarily self-taught. She works mostly in soft pastels in a representational/impressionistic style. She is particularly interested in the relationship of light and shadow in the landscape. Jennie employs vivid colors in painting the landscape around her home in Hendersonville, NC and on many of her travels throughout the US and abroad. Many of her paintings focus on the changing seasons in Western North Carolina. Disciplined in her work, she paints full time. Her work continues to evolve and improve.

She has had successful solo shows in Jackson, MS and Charlotte, NC. Jennie accepts commission work and enjoys working with clients to create special paintings to meet their unique needs.

She is currently represented by Nunnery's Gallery in Jackson, MS and Cheryl Smith Interiors in Hendersonville, NC. Her work is hanging in private and corporate collections around the southeast.

She lives in Hendersonville, North Carolina and is married to Dr. Robert Francis.
