"The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives. " - Albert Einstein
Painting allows me the freedom to remain a child and to use bright bright colors and simple compositions. My artist endeavors do not come from a deeply analytical space, in fact I resist the urge to analyze why I paint, or what I am trying to “say” in my work.
There are certain universal truths- Beauty, Truth, that we as humans, I believe, are all seeking to touch, to be reunited with, if you will. Perhaps John Keats said it best, " 'Truth is beauty. Beauty is truth. Beauty truth.' "That is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.' "
When I touch Beauty, I am deeply spontaneously moved. It is that “Beauty,” some might call it God or the Great Spirit that I am attempting to touch and to be in communion with when I paint. My painting is an appeal to my own nobler motives, a reunion with all that is good within each of us as expressed in the overwhelming beauty of our Earth.
